- Ensure all repair processes for new products adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety in all NPI activities.
- Design, validate, and implement repair processes for new aerospace products introduced into the overhaul shop.
- Work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure repair processes align with product specifications and shop capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during the introduction of new repair processes.
- Develop and maintain repair documentation, including work instructions, standard work, and technical manuals for new products.
- Support technicians and engineers on new repair processes and provide ongoing technical support.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement lean methodologies to improve repair efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Interface with customers to address technical inquiries related to NPI repair processes and ensure satisfaction with repair outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace repair processes, materials, and equipment, particularly for new products.
- Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and driving innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs during NPI activities.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to understand and address customer needs during the introduction of new repair processes.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace repair engineering or NPI activities.
- Experience with lean methodologies, including Kaizen and Kata.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FAA/EASA standards.
- Proficiency in repair documentation and technical writing.
