- Provides the database / Instance support for the following:
- 110+ SQL Server database server (versions 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022).
- Focuses on database availability and uptime. Monitors database usage and performance and takes necessary actions regarding indexes, SQL statements, space allocations and server/database configurations to improve overall performance.
- Installs, configures, and upgrades custom built Microsoft SQL Server. Installs and manages high-availability features such as failover clusters.
- Adheres to standard protocols in ensuring that security and integrity of the Microsoft SQL database environments are maintained. Defines, implements, and manages security roles and permissions for all applications, modules and database users.
- Managing database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provides a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application, and corporate entities to ensure effective data management as a corporate enterprise
- Works with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in a high-pressure, complex environment
- Ensures solutions meet business objectives and establishes and maintains a high level of user trust and confidence in IT's knowledge and concern for user's business needs
- Modifies logical or physical model of a database as appropriate to satisfy functional requirements and to maximize performance.
- Demonstrates initiative, good judgment, and the ability to achieve results through others.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in information technology or related discipline.
- Overall 3-5 years of managing SQL Server environments with minimum 3 years' experience in SQL server 2019 or later in an administrative role.
- Experience with non-SQL DBs will be valuable but is not essential.
- Must possess high-level of proficiency in SQL and PowerShell.
- Experience developing strategy and standards related to database systems
- Experience working with outsource systems provider to ensure company databases standards are followed.
- Must possess experience in troubleshooting and resolving job failures, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, connectivity and security issues.
- Experience with database tools (e.g. DBArtisan and SQL Server Management Studio)
- Possess Good working knowledge of windows server operating systems (2019,2022)
- Time Management and Prioritization: ability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Ability to document and communicate effectively with the team regarding technical, progress and critical issues. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
