- Supports BDS technical leadership in development of SoW, technical mentoring, project planning, execution and monitoring,
- Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
- Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
- Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements, working under general supervision.
- Bachelors of Science (or greater) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria, release processes, aircraft structural analysis.
- 3+ years of experience performing stress analysis (static and fatigue) using hand calculations and finite element tools
- Experience in engineering and product qualification testing (static, fatigue, vibration, windmilling, life cycling). Understanding of test plans and test procedures creation.
- Experience in presenting to employees, customers, peers and all levels of leadership
- Experience in working within a cross-functional interpersonal environment
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- Solid communicator, fluent in both written and verbal English.
- Experience using NASTRAN/PATRAN and/or Hyperworks finite element modeling software.
- Experience in metallic structures static analysis (composite is a plus).
- Basic knowledge in damage tolerance analysis and inspection methods.
- Experience working with airplane certification projects involving FAA approval.
- Solid communicator, fluent in both written and verbal English.
