We deliver the latest insights and real-world evidence to inform the best decisions for patients and their care-givers, to ensure the medicines we develop continue to provide meaningful outcomes.Beyond medicines, we support our stakeholder communities to drive initiatives that improve awareness, education, access and ultimately standards of care.The Opportunity:This position is part of global Finance Compliance & Governance team, and you will support all aspects of JSOX Finance Compliance & Governance globally for Order to Cash and Source to Pay processes in all affiliates.You will be responsible for the execution of the annual J-SOX program as the second line of defence, working to objectively support management in effectively managing risks and controls, which is aligned with the Internal Audit and External Audit JSOX assessment engagement.You will also provide in-depth review and analysis on key processes to add value and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control over financial reporting, related processes and BPO activities.Hybrid Working:At Astellas we recognize the importance of balancing your work and home life, so we offer a hybrid working solution allowing time to connect with colleagues in person at the office alongside the flexibility to work from home; optimizing the most productive work environment for you to succeed and deliver.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead JSOX compliance for Order to Cash and Source to Pay processes across all global affiliates, ensuring strong internal controls and risk management.
  • Identify and assess risks in financial processes, recommend corrective actions, and track progress to reduce exposure.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to coordinate audits, share information, and ensure compliance with JSOX and SOX standards.
  • Analyse and improve processes by finding opportunities to streamline, automate, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Prepare and present reports for senior leadership and the JSOX Steering Committee, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Support control owners in designing and implementing remediation plans for any control deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes, controls, and flowcharts, and ensure staff and third-party providers are trained and aligned with compliance requirements.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong experience in combination of auditing and IFRS.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX standards and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) framework.
  • Proven experience in international/global environments, ideally within complex matrix organizations.
  • Background in companies with GBS (Global Business Services) or similar structures.
  • Excellent understanding of audit documentation requirements.
  • Experience with financial compliance technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with J-SOX and working with Japanese companies.
  • Background in public accounting.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with AuditBoard software.
Education:
  • Proficiency in business English is essential for effective cross-country collaboration.
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
Additional information:
  • This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
