PhD degree in agricultural, biological, veterinary or related sciences,
Experience in presenting results at scientific conferences

practical ability to drive a passenger car (category B driving license)
courses, training and practical skills related to working with animals and in the laboratory will be an additional advantage,
references regarding experience in scientific and research work will be an additional advantage.

Specific Requirements

First author of at least 3 scientific publications from the Philadelphia list
Knowledge of animal physiology and cell biology, reproductive biology, molecular biology,
Experience in: conducting cell cultures of primary cells and cell lines; molecular biology techniques; microscopic techniques, including cell survival analyses; ELISA and statistical analyses. Knowledge of transcriptomic and proteomic analyzes will be an additional advantage.

Selection process

Setting up selection committees

The selection committees are independent, members should not have any conflict of interest and the decisions must be objective and evidence-based. The committee should make best use of the expertise of external members.

Screening and interviewing

All applications should be screened. Depending on the number of applicants as well as the internal human resources available, the process may involve one or more steps, e.g., pre-screening to check eligibility, shortlisting of candidates for interviews, remote interviews by telephone or skype, face-to-face interviews.All candidates shall be treated equally and in the same way. It is recommended that the same selection committee is involved in all steps, although it is recognised that this may not always be feasible and that, for example, one committee may do the initial screening and another may conduct the interviews.

Assessing merit and future potential

The criteria for selecting researchers shall focus on both the candidates' past performance and their future potential. Merit should be judged qualitatively as well as quantitatively, focusing on results within a diversified career path, taking into account career breaks, lifelong professional development and the added value of non-research experience. A wide range of evaluation criteria shall be used and balanced, according to the position being advertised.

Recognition of mobility experience

Any mobility experience, e.g. a stay in another country/region or in another research setting (public or private) or a change from one discipline or sector to another, whether as part of the initial research training or at a later stage of the research career, or virtual mobility experience, are considered as a valuable contribution to the professional development of a researcher.
