Reports to: Snr Creative Director London and Head of Consumer Products PolandSUMMARY OF POSITION :
This role will be the creative and product development lead for the Polish market.
Review all designs and products submitted by our Polish partners through WBD product development/approval process. This position is instrumental in ensuring that innovative and exciting graphic content and product design is continually developed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and that our licensees produce compelling product that best represents our brands at retail.Submissions featuring any Warner Bros. Discovery owned properties (includes DC Comics, Harry Potter, and theatrical) are reviewed within a contractually stipulated timeframe to ensure compliance with Warner Bros. Discovery Consumer Products policies and brand management. Utilizes property knowledge and product design to help drive revenue into Warner Bros. Discovery.Work on priority design assignments and pitch materials specific to the Polish business as required. Follow global and local product/design trends and apply that knowledge to inspire partners when creating dedicated materials.Undertake research projects with the wider Creative & PD team to maintain knowledge of the competitive landscape JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide creative concept, design and product development support, working with internal stakeholders and external clients to accurately complete assigned briefs.
- Reviews samples and designs to ensure all submissions meet the brand guidelines and legal requirements.
- Acts as the brand ambassador on all product submissions making decisions based on whether the product is in line with brand strategy, creative strategy, and product quality standards.
- Approves or rejects based on the creative standard and legal guidelines set.
- With knowledge of the manufacturing process and a knowledge of Warner Bros. policies and procedures and brand guidelines, reviews and provides detailed comments on concept, pre-production, and final samples submitted by licensees on items including product, packaging, TV commercials, point of sale.
- Maintains a one-on-one relationship with licensee counterparts, as well as designers etc. to ensure understanding and a smooth working approval process. Where necessary obtains all necessary third-party approvals.
- Works hand in hand with Category Leads in Product Design area including joint planning.
- Suggests and creates trend driven propositions in line with category strategy when a gap in the portfolio or licensee need is identified.
Work ExperienceGraduate with experience in Graphic Design/Product development within the Licensing industry or retail environment . Retail, merchandising, art development, or overseas manufacturing/sourcing experience are all beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years-experience in licensing, product development, design or manufacturing/sourcing.
- Experience of the Polish retail market, trends and nuances.
- Experience creating graphic design and POV boards for licensed merchandise.
- Fashion experience essential.
- Experience desired of working across multiple licensing categories.
- Design Degree or qualification preferred.
- Polish language essential with good knowledge of English.
- Strong Working Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator and In-Design
- PC Skills: Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Must have the ability to absorb and respond quickly to given information.
- Must have the ability to learn the various guidelines relating to WB Intellectual properties and distinguish different styles of art from others to accurately log and review submissions.
- Must have the ability to learn about art production and manufacturing processes in general.
- Must be detailed and have an artistic eye.
- Must have good spelling, grammar, punctuation and language skills.
- Must be able to sift through information and identify priorities.
- Must be able to interface professionally with department, licensees, and all levels of management.
- Strong team player with experience of international organizations.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Must have the ability to acquire and work with knowledge of properties in all categories, i.e., giftware, housewares, toys, apparel, accessories, publishing, and promotions.
- Must have the ability to acquire and work with knowledge of copyrights and trademarks for use in product approvals.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, inside and outside of the company. Comfortable presenting and does this in an impactful way by tailoring content accordingly.
