In this opportunity as a Lead Business Analyst, Indirect Tax , you will:
- Handle the analysis, design, testing, modification, and ongoing maintenance of a specialised reconciliation tool. Its core function is to integrate and align VAT declarations and e-invoicing data, as well as other sources of data related to indirect tax filings.
- Deliver guidance on e-invoicing solutions and processes, covering everything from system selection and configuration to seamless integration.
- Collaborate with clients to gain a deep understanding of their e-invoicing requirements, business processes, and current systems.
- Get involved in monitoring some jurisdictions by reviewing tax authority documents, tax legislation and other information sources.
- Review and test tax templates to ensure they meet requirements/specifications and are built following best practices.
- Help resolve tax-related client queries.
- Liaise with a wide variety of teams, including Technology, QA, Implementation, Product Management and Customer Support.
You’re a fit for the role of Lead Business Analyst, Indirect Tax if you are/have:
- A minimum of 5-6 years’ experience related to fields such as taxes, accounting, e-invoicing, or reconciliation of data.
- Educated to degree level, preferably in Economics, Accounting, Law, or related subjects.
- Strong understanding of e-invoicing (e.g., Pagero, Edicom, Sovos, SNI), ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and VAT reporting (ONESOURCE, Avalara, Vertex…) technological solutions, ideally with experience in their implementation, integration or practical use for tax reporting.
- Skilled in working with structured data exchange formats such as XML, UBL, and JSON.
- Solid grasp of regulatory requirements for e-invoicing and VAT compliance.
- Familiarity with programming, databases, and APIs for effective troubleshooting.
- Interest in technology and software systems will be a plus.
- Knowledge of more than one foreign language will be an advantage.
- Organised and methodical approach to work, especially attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and virtually with people in different locations.
