We are looking for a Senior Java Developer (Spring) to join our client's Fixed Income Trading Technology Team.Our client is a leader in the financial sector, with a strong presence in fixed income trading. They've developed a globally distributed, component-based system written mainly in Java, using technologies like Spring, JMS, REST, ORM, and WebServices. The platform also integrates tools such as Python, Bash, Perl, C++, and low-level networking.You'll work in an Agile pod focused on enhancing and maintaining backend components of this high-performance system - critical to global trading operations. The role involves collaboration across regions and offers real impact on system architecture and performance.This role offers a flex hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the office in Kraków.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement software components according to requirementsTake responsibility for ensuring the delivery and quality standards of softwareSpend time with the customer to determine and understand deliverablesSupport business in platform rationalisation and optimisation effortsContinue removing technical debt and standardising the platformSupport business in migration to a strategic platformWork with other IT teams across the globeRequirementsStrong Core Java knowledgeExperience with Spring framework and SQLGood communication and time management skillsTeam player mentalityPragmatic approach to software developmentStrong written and verbal EnglishNice to haveKnowledge of RedisExperience in multithreading in JavaExperience in networking in JavaExperience in web services in JavaExperience with JMSAbility to acquire and capture requirementsAttention to software qualityUnderstanding of investment banking domainUnderstanding of Agile principles (experience in Scrum or Kanban)Positive attitudeWe offer/BenefitsWe gather like-minded people:
