Job Description:The impact you have in this roleAs Senior Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to put your curiosity to good use and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in the world. Here's how to make an impact:
  • Preparation mechanical design and building of machines and industrial equipment in various technologies; ordering components and documentation service, supervision over assembling of designed machines
  • Verification and comment of process requirements and define mechanical specification for machines, supervision of design and preparation of documentation.
  • Review concepts and design of external machine suppliers, verify if proposals meets defined expectations and are prepared based on state of the art solutions (design review); cooperation with vendors during offers collection, design and commissioning of machines.
  • Partake in commissioning and optimization of machines.
  • Support Project Managers by estimation of budget and timeline for design projects
  • Close cooperation with Process and Control Systems Engineers.
Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
  • Higher education - Engineering Degree in Mechanic / Mechatronics / Machine Construction, or related field
  • Experience in mechanical design of machines and industrial equipment and basic knowledge of mechatronics.
  • Practical skills in 3D modeling – NX, Solid Works, making of design documentation, assembly and detail drawings
  • Knowledge of market of machine commercial components and common materials used in machine building
  • Creativity in mechanical machine design, but also knowledge of physics applied to the implementation of automatic industrial machinery projects.
  • Ability to integrate well with the team, work closely with customers/suppliers groups to agree: scope and specification, development of requirements and review offers and proposed solutions. Manage delivery/installation/validation of equipment on time and within defined budget
  • English language at the C1 level, both spoken and written
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include
  • Experience in working in different cultural circles (working abroad)
  • Experience with robotic applications
  • Experience in one or more of technologies (e.g. assembling automation, web handling, extrusion, molding, coating, etc.)
  • German language at B1 level
  • Polish language at B1 level

Travel: May include up to 20-40% international, EMEA mainly but occasionally out of EuropeCountry Specifics:
  • Main workplace of employed person will be Poland – Wroclaw but employee will be part of regional, EMEA engineering team and will collaborate with members form multiply countries.
  • Employed person will be part of regional engineering team, and as a specialist, will be part of projects teams, that design and build industry production lines and machines, for internal 3M manufacturing needs.
  • Machines designed by our team realize many different processes, most often assembling automation, but also converting, web controlling, coating, rarely mixing and chemical processes.
