Paint Shop Production Engineer

Tasks

Develop manufacturing processes to paint vans; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
Assure process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing paint processes.
Budget planning and tracking, writing spec books; requests and evaluation of supplier quotations.
Manage projects, coordinate suppliers on and off site.
Technical approval of large equipment/installations while planning with ergonomics in mind.
Problem solving
Takes part in continuous improvement process to optimize manufacturing efficiency, while developing planning standards, methods, and procedures.

Qualifications

Master's degree in an engineering discipline
Experience in Automotive Paint Shop or chemical industry
Knowledge of Manufacturing Methods (especially painting) procedures and process technology with presentation of technical information - nice to have
A background and thorough understanding of robotic and fluid flow delivery systems
Strong process engineering “LEAN” skill set
Proven written and verbal communication at all levels within the organization with good negotiation skills
Intercultural competencies to build productive work relationships
A good working knowledge of English Language a strong positive
Experience with a paint or chemical supplier - nice to have
Experience in corrosion protection and / or in paint application - nice to have
Experience in quality control loops and quality standards
