We work closely with internal and external stakeholders as we lead our command center software suite into the future, transforming the solutions and technology of today with tomorrow in mind.Job DescriptionThe product owner is responsible for the ownership and managing of the backlog for their assigned value stream(s), contributes to the product roadmap, and understands customer and market needs for the PremierOne product.The product owner works in partnership with the product manager and relies on their technical knowledge and background to define user stories and acceptance criteria, engage with assigned Engineering teams, and groom the backlog. The ability to deeply understand technical architecture, define engineering behind features, and translate high-level customer functional requirements into technical for development is a crucial skill. In addition, the ability to describe the impact of technical requirements on customers, non-technical sales, and support resources is a must.This position will be responsible for filling the agile product owner role for the PremierOne product. In this role, the product owner champions the needs of the user, customer, and other stakeholders throughout the development process to ensure that what is delivered meets the goals, objectives, and desired outcomes of the project. To be successful, one must manage multiple projects simultaneously, at various stages of their development, from idea to completed feature.ResponsibilitiesDevelop strong relationships with UI/UX teams and work in close partnership with research and design colleaguesActively involved in initiative and epic refinement as an integral member of the Product Management teamResponsible for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog, including user stories, defects, and research spikesReview and prioritize the backlog as part of the preparatory work for release and sprint planning, including coordination of dependencies with other POsContribute to the roadmapInvolved in release planning, reviewing vision, and content presentations to assigned engineering team(s)Collaborate with the team to detail user stories with acceptance criteriaMaintain the proper flow of features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in the backlogAgree on accepted story completion, including validating that the story meets acceptance criteria and that it complies with the Definition of Done (DoD)Understand the scope of needed research spikes and collaborate with Engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructuresCollaborate with the team and any other stakeholders in the team demoLead and participate in the appropriate agile ceremoniesDesired SkillsAgile/Scrum experienceFirm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface designDeep technical knowledge in software development methodologiesExperience utilizing product and project management tools such as Aha!, Jira, and DevOpsTechnical skills and knowledge of on-prem or cloud services and developmentAlign with the enhanced focus on prioritizing and developing important aspects of mission-critical products, such as availability, reliability, and stabilityExcellent communication skills - both verbal and writtenPolished presentation skills for internal and external audiencesProactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problemsCapable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing new projects alongside customer feedbackStrong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into a format that is intuitive and clear to developers as well as non-technical staffAbility to research and analyze project requirements from various stakeholdersBuild consensus among stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a diverse team spread across multiple continents in a fast-moving environmentAbility to multi-task among various assignmentsExperience within the Public Safety industry is a plusUnderstanding of product management and product ownership principlesBasic Requirements iv>Bachelor's Degree4+ years of progressive experience in business analysis, product ownership, product planning, product management, or engineeringWhat we are offering you
