We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission to make life better for billions of people every day.Partner with the bestAs a Senior Site Reliability Engineering Lead, you will specialize in creating solutions that improve automation and efficiencies across all internal teams. You will drive automation, operational excellence, and support our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems administration, configuration management, automation, software development.As a Senior Site Reliability Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for:

Leading and mentoring a small team of talented Site Reliability Engineers
Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
Providing support, leadership and motivation for project teams
Building tools, automating tasks, deployments, troubleshooting and reducing toil
Improving SLOs/SLIs, increasing reliability at scale
Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issue

Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:

Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
Possess expert level experience in a DevOps, Development, or SysAdmin role working with large scale distributed systems
Have experience with building tools for automation and infrastructure at scale(python/go, terraform, saltstack, jenkins)
Be able to work in alignment with strategic business initiatives and coordinate the work of other engineers
Demonstrate excellent communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently
Possess informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the table
