Learn more about our in our .Project Overview:Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.Job Summary:This role will support design development of architectural designs for the project site by preparing studies, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other architects, engineers and designers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.Major Responsibilities:

Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the architectural work to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
Analyses problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions
Analyses and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements
Prepares or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders
Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals
Prepares letters to vendors and clients
Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations
When delegated, provides guidance to other architectural personnel for specific tasks or project-subgroups
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard Architectural methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgement in making adaptations and modifications
Designs facility layouts, and architectural details
Performs building code analyses and compliance, 3D modelling and renderings
Coordinates work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction
Assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders
Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, renderings, reports, or proposals
Provides technical assistance to other Architectural personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards
Assist in constructability reviews
Prepares project designs and plans using 3D modelling software

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires Master’s degree in Engineering (Architectural focused or international equivalent) and 6-8 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Registered Architect or able to be registered within 1 year of start date
Prior experience in facility design/layout and details, building code analyses, Revit modelling and renderings
Experience with CADD applications, such as Revit
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions and construction methods
Understands work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects
Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally
Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates, suppliers, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with procurement automation tools
Experience in projects implemented under Polish public procurement law (prawo zamówień publicznych)
Experience in designing industrial plants (power plants, oil & gas, chemical plants, etc.)
Experience in large international projects and/or in American Architectural/Engineering companies.
