products and services in line with the best-available knowledge and following best-practice for certification
bodies.
The Global Climate leader is a key pillar of the Global Sustainability strategy and responsible for the
development and maintenance of Carbon products and guidance within the network. The Global Climate team
act as “product owners” for the key procedures and processes, including coordination across different affiliate
and regional teams to ensure a successful development and growth.REPORTING LINE

The Global Climate Leader is responsible for designing and deploying SGS's global strategy for carbon-related
services. This includes consolidating and expanding our existing offerings in carbon data collection,
verification, and advisory services. The mission is to drive organic growth and market leadership in carbon related
services, aligning with global sustainability trends and competitive benchmarks. The mission also
comprises a M&A component to generate additional growth.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and implement a global strategy for carbon services (Scope 1, 2, 3), aligned with market
- demands and sustainability goals.
- A comprehensive understanding of grounding principles and application of concepts around Life Cycle
- Assessment (LCA).
- Benchmark SGS's services against competitors to identify growth opportunities and service gaps.
- Develop a clear value proposition and service portfolio road map for carbon services.
- Structure existing offerings in carbon data collection, emissions verification (GHG Protocol, ISO
- 14064, CDP, SBTi, ISO14068), and carbon strategy consulting.
- Ensure consistent service methodologies, quality standards, and tools across all SGS Affiliates.
- Drive Strategic Global Accreditations for the Business Assurance Division.
- Create strategic partnerships with digital tools and platforms providers for carbon data management
- and reporting.
- Build partnerships with international frameworks (e.g. CDP, SBTi, UNFCCC, ISO), carbon market
- players, and strategic digital carbon platforms.
- Align carbon related verification, validation and assurance services with requirements of
- ISO17029:2019, ISO14065:2020 and the upcoming ISO14019(draft stage).
- Enable all carbon related verification services that are carried out as part of assurance engagements
- to be compliant with internal quality management systems.
- Represent SGS in global sustainability forums and working groups on climate and carbon.
- Coordinate a network of local carbon experts across SGS affiliates.
- Provide training and support capacity building within the SGS network.
- Drive internal knowledge sharing and best practices on carbon services.
- Identify and activate global business opportunities in carbon services across all regions.
- Support local SGS affiliates in building commercial capabilities for carbon-related services.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers to position SGS as a trusted carbon partner for multinational
- clients and their supply chain actors.
- Collaborate with global and local marketing teams to promote the SGS Climate related services.
- Liaise with other Divisions and Businesses with a common objective in the area of Sustainability
- services and ensure aligned content as far as possible
- At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS
- employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures.
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Master's degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Engineering, Climate Policy, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Carbon management, Emissions verification, or Climate strategy
- consulting.
- Solid experience in leading position and in the development of such portfolio of services at large scale.
- Strong understanding of international standards and frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, SBTi,
- CDP, TCFD, ISO17029:2019, ISO14065:2020, Carbon markets).
- Experience working with multinational clients and complex project coordination, ideally strong
- experience in a similar role for TIC industry player.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a mostly virtual environment.
- Well organized, fast adopter and attention to detail.
- Results oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a culturally and geographically diverse
- and constantly evolving organizational culture.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to work independently in an international and multicultural
- remote work environment.
- Experience of working within an international environment is a plus.
- Business development mindset and ability to translate technical services into client value.
- Fluent in English; other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Chinese) are a plus.
