- Management responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, selecting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates while enforcing company policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the Purchasing department or function.
- Develops and implements policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization; ensures pur-chasing activities meet quality standards and service level agreements for purchased products, goods, or materials while com-pany costs are minimized.
- Collaborates with functional team leaders on escalated issues; provide guidance on root cause analysis, corrective action plans and resolution.
- Develops a strategy to target and deliver continuous Price over Price and Total Cost of Ownership improvements.
- Develops and drives a team culture to deliver Price over Price and Total Cost of Ownership improvements. In doing so, estab-lishes measurable and time bound goals with team members. Tracks performance, providing support as required.
- Oversees vendor negotiations taking place within the team.
- Collaborates with other functional leaders (e.g., Operations, Strategic Initiatives, Marketing, Vendor Relations, and Product Strategy) for preferred suppliers/vendors, contractual terms/conditions, delivery obligations, etc.
- Leads on-going functional and/or system-related process improvement initiatives that contribute to the profitability of the company.
- Supports inventory management activities and initiates / supports the deployment of best practices
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong background in the management of Indirect Spend Categories, MRO and General Consumables within a manufacturing background. Knowledge of the Domestic and European Supply Base is required.
- Good knowledge of Inventory Management techniques and best practices
- Effective staff management and development skills.
- Mathematical aptitude for basic calculations.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational and execution skills.
- Proficiency with MS-Office products, especially EXCEL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and Application of INCOTERMS
- Business proficient Polish and English Language (Written and Spoken) essential.
- Immediate supervision over a unit, section, or department where the majority of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work and eliminating ordinary difficulties. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
- Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
