
Lab Technician - Design Evaluation Engineer

- Bring up new PCBA assemblies together with engineers, including initial power-up, connectivity checks, and flashing firmware.
- Assist with electrical validation and functional testing of custom boards (oscilloscope measurements, power testing, sensor bring-up, etc.).
- Support and manage lab equipment, including soldering stations, scopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, etc.
- Perform manual soldering (SMD and THT) for prototypes, patching, rework, and debug purposes.
- Execute basic lab automation or scripting tasks (e.g., flashing tools, serial communication scripts).
- Read and interpret schematics and basic layout documentation.
- Help with tracking bugs, validation results, and documentation in collaboration with design engineers.
- Manage component inventory, test cables, fixtures, and maintain an organized lab environment.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, test, and system teams to iterate quickly on prototype feedback.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensure safe lab practices are followed.
- Document test setups and findings clearly and concisely.
- Basic understanding of electronics fundamentals (Ohm's law, I2C/SPI basics, voltage regulators, etc.).
- Experience with soldering and manual assembly of electronic components.
- Familiarity with basic test equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, lab power supply.
- Ability to read schematics and follow test plans or written procedures.
- A proactive mindset and attention to detail in a lab environment.
- Good communication skills and eagerness to learn from senior engineers.
- Minimum: vocational school, technician diploma or relevant lab experience.
- Any formal certifications like SEP (uprawnienia elektryczne), IPC, ESD training, etc.
- Experience with PCBA bring-up or prototype debugging.
- Use of Altium Designer for reviewing layouts or BOMs.
- Knowledge of serial communication (UART, USB, CAN, etc.).
- Ability to document test procedures and findings clearly.
- Familiarity with component datasheets and electronic part handling.
- Familiarity with 3D printers, mechanical prototyping, basic CAD tools.
- Interest in test automation or scripting (Python/etc.) is a plus.
