We deliver the latest insights and real-world evidence to inform the best decisions for patients and their care-givers, to ensure the medicines we develop continue to provide meaningful outcomes.Beyond medicines, we support our stakeholder communities to drive initiatives that improve awareness, education, access and ultimately standards of care.The Opportunity:In this role, you will be a key financial partner to the Global Business Services (GBS) leadership team, driving financial strategy, performance management, and expense optimization across global operations, particularly within our Global Capability Centres (GCCs). As the Finance Business Partner for GBS, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Head of GBS and her leadership team, delivering insights that shape strategic decisions and promote financial stewardship.You will lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and outlooks while overseeing major financial initiatives and supporting operational performance. Operating at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, you will collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, expert finance teams, and functional leaders to embed a culture of cost discipline, compliance, and value creation. This is a pivotal role with global impact, ensuring sustainable financial performance, supporting enterprise-wide goals, and influencing key investment and operational decisions.Hybrid Working:At Astellas we recognize that our employees enjoy having balance between their professional and home lives. Providing financial leadership across GBS by managing budgets, expenses, forecasts, and strategic projects.
Driving cost optimization by monitoring performance, challenging assumptions, and analyzing key investments.
Leading financial oversight of major cost drivers like outsourcing, payroll, real estate, and advisory services.
Collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align financial plans with enterprise goals.
Supporting decision-making by evaluating risks, opportunities, capital investments, and product P&L assumptions.
Promoting compliance, financial integrity, and capability development across GBS through coaching and governance.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

Significant experience in finance roles within global matrixed organizations, preferably multinational corporations.
Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders through business partnering and strategic insight.
Deep expertise in FP&A, expense management, budgeting, and financial control.
Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Hands-on experience in ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP), Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication, collaboration, and project leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA and/or CPA, CIMA, or equivalent professional certification.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is highly desirable.
Background in financial transformation, process improvement, or shared services finance.
Exposure to compliance, internal controls, and external audit processes.

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline or equivalent.
Professional-level fluency in English is essential for effective global collaboration.

Additional information:

This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
