Team OverviewThe European Shareholder Services team, within the Investment Operations division, is responsible for administering client instructions related to subscription and redemption activities for portfolios managed globally by State Street Investment Management. The team ensures the accurate verification, timely processing, and effective communication of these instructions to the State Street Investment Management Portfolio Management team.Role PurposeThe incumbent will provide leadership to team members in the Krakow European Shareholder Services team, ensuring operational excellence, robust risk management, and adherence to regulatory and internal standards. This Assistant Vice President role encompasses strategic planning, process oversight, and people leadership, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development of the team’s strategic objectives and support the design and implementation of a multi-site operating model.
  • Transition Management: Oversee the migration of activities from other locations, ensuring risk mitigation and uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage daily processes and controls to ensure timely and accurate operational support. Intervene directly when necessary to maintain service continuity.
  • People Management: Provide coaching, facilitate professional development, and conduct performance appraisals. Lead recruitment efforts and maintain high levels of team engagement and performance.
  • Risk and Compliance: Assume responsibility for operational risk management within the team, ensuring that all procedures remain current and effective. Identify and implement additional risk mitigation measures as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage constructive feedback and critical evaluation of processes. Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and operational resilience.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal business lines, corporate functions, and external stakeholders. Represent the team in internal and external forums as required.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Promote best practices across locations through regular engagement with peers and participation in governance forums.
Required Competencies
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing organizational change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Articulate and confident in communication, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Adept at working both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrating accountability and sound judgment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance or a related analytical discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English; knowledge of additional European languages is considered advantageous.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant industry experience within Investment Operations, Transfer Agency or Operations.
