- Responsible for the Geometry section in Body in White.
- Accountable for department performance and ensuring high standards of quality in BIW geometry.
- Creating and developing control plans and responding to the first signals of loss of geometric and qualitative characteristics.
- Direct BIW geometry, ensuring cost-effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, accuracy, and performance standards.
- Take ownership and responsibility for meeting volume and cost goals, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage and develop the strategy for all BIW geometry operations to ensure that company products, processes, and procedures meet corporate standards and all compliance regulations.
- Ensure effective communication through shop floor meetings, cascading information from managers and group leaders to shop floor employees.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage the BIW geometry area to maintain production continuity, avoid shutdowns, and ensure high quality.
- Monitor the cost-effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
- Personnel responsibility for Group Leaders, Engineers (direct reports), and Technicians (indirect reports) within the BIW Geometry team.
- Actively drive continuous improvement processes and the implementation of the Mercedes-Benz Production System within the BIW area.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in vehicle manufacturing, with a focus on geometry management in Body-in-White (BIW).
- Extensive knowledge of Body-in-White processes, including welding, joining techniques, and dimensional control using state-of-the-art automated and robotic equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and their application in a modern automotive work environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in an intercultural, fast-paced, changing, and growing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Prior working knowledge at an automotive manufacturing plant is preferred.
- Candidates must have completed PV-44.
- Languages: Fluent English, and German and Polish are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to other Mercedes-Benz locations for training and knowledge sharing.
- Proficiency in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
