This role is key in managing and analyzing general administration costs across our affiliates. You will work closely with business partners and central finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting, support audits, and contribute to financial transparency and compliance.This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting experience, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, who enjoys working in a collaborative, international environment.Hybrid Working:At Astellas we recognise the importance of balancing your work and home life, so we offer a hybrid working solution allowing time to connect with colleagues in person at the office alongside the flexibility to work from home; optimising the most productive work environment for you to succeed and deliver.Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and review purchase order commitment accruals during mid-month and month-end cycles.
  • Partner with business and finance teams to gather accurate data for accruals.
  • Analyze cost trends and variances to support financial reporting.
  • Challenge and validate significant changes in accruals with evidence.
  • Operate specific accrual procedures (e.g., Pontoon, Helix).
  • Manage pre-payment accruals and ensure audit-ready documentation.
  • Liaise with audit and tax teams to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Support transformation projects to improve and standardize accrual processes.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Strong understanding of cost accrual accounting and purchase order processes.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and financial governance (e.g., J-SOX/SOX).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Excel.
  • Advanced level of English and Polish (spoken and written).
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in a multinational company or matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with Shared Services or GCC/GBS models.
  • Knowledge of Ariba or similar procurement tools.
Education/Qualifications:
  • University degree or equivalent.
Additional Information:
  • This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office
