- Lead, guide and train a team of validation engineers and technicians in the evaluation, implementation and execution of Validation Tests for Automotive power electronics, electronics and some drive module assembly products.
- Monitor team performance on project critical key characteristics, adjust staffing & methods to achieve goals, resource planning.
- Ensure team’s process compliance: guide team in development process implementation, monitoring, and improvements.
- Support hiring and interview candidates.
- Setting goals and performance reviews of direct reports
- Manages team skill set, training and development plan.
- Actively assists, or provides direction to team as required.
- Assists in budgeting and other financial tasks.
- Support open communication within the team.
- Manage validation projects including planning, scheduling, execution and reporting
- Coordinate and track all validation related activities to ensure alignment with program milestones and customer deadlines
- Participate in procurement process and commissioning of new test benches, validation equipment and instrumentation needed for successful program execution
- Support building and development of validation lab infrastructure, including facility layout, utilities and test equipment
- Drive the validation process throughout the product development V-shape cycle from product concept to production launch
- Analyze test data, compare results against technical requirements defined in Polarion and provide technical guidance for the design team
- Ensure proper documentation of test procedures, results, and 8D reports in compliance with quality and customer standards (e.g. IATF 16949, ISO 17025)
- Maintain and calibrate test benches and measurement systems to ensure equipment availability and accuracy
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lab processes, efficiency, and data management practices
- Promote and implement Lean principles, 8D methodologies in problem solving and lessons learned from other programs
- Manage projects in planning, development, and test execution in validation laboratory.
- Support, maintain, and update planning and tracking activities.
- Responsible for requirements analysis, equipment definition, procurement and commissioning.
- Develop and implement validation lab infrastructure.
- Manage the Validation Process activities during the product design cycle from product concept to production launch.
- Manage critical path timing issues to ensure on time test development completion.
- Analysis of test data and comparison to requirements.
- Be involved in continuous improvement and maintenance of the validation test equipment
- Work with other BorgWarner engineers and departments to ensure that program goals are met, schedules are maintained, and problems encountered during the validation process are resolved.
- Develop an open and collaborative team culture and ensure global strong cooperation with our engineering teams at other technical centers and plants globally
- Work closely with all other engineering and non-engineering functions e.g., Global Supply Management, Quality, Launch Management, Project Management, etc. to ensure teams are well connected and driving towards safe and flawless launch of our products.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the validation process.
- Document and share best-practices.
- Manage and administer quality activities to ensure compliance to IATF 16949 / ISO 17025.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and best practices are followed, documented, and followed by Local Validation Engineering. Provides input if necessary.
- Meets Department Cost and Quality objectives.
- Master degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
- At least 8 years of engineering experience in preferably in validation or design engineering within the automotive or related industry.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams
- Experience in working with global organizations.
- Good project management skills
- Strong ability to assess and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges
- Fluency in English is required. German/French would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of validation and testing principles and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with industry standards and testing protocols for automotive components
- Travel is required, at the initial stage for extended period of time. Then, up to 15% of the time
- Laboratory and team management experience
- Experience in Test and Validation of complex system (Software and Hardware)
- Knowledge of Programming in C/C++, LabView, TestStand, and LabWindows
- Power electronics knowledge
- Experience working in automotive
- Experienced in Excel VBA macro development

- Final Interview (45 minutes) - A meeting with a representative from the HR department to ensure alignment with our company culture and discuss the next steps. This interview might also take place via Teams or at our office.
