Who we are looking forThe primary focus of this role is to serve as an expert in Depositary controls executed from Poland, aligning with the company's strategy and resources in the Poland location. The individual in this position must possess a deep understanding of the regulated funds lifecycle, regulations related to Depositary duties, and exceptional leadership skills. Under supervision of Depositary Manager, the Operations Specialist will engage in various projects, special analysis and initiatives relating to technical aspects of the business.Depositary is an EMEA specific regulatory function with fiduciary duty to the end investor.European investment funds, whether UCITS or AIF, must appoint a Depositary in accordance with the UCITS and AIFM Directives. The Depositary is responsible for the safekeeping of the investment fund’s assets and therefore ensures separation of those assets from the management of the fund. In addition, the depositary is required to perform oversight functions and, in this way, oversees certain activities of the fund manager such as valuation of the fund assets and monitoring of fund cash flows.This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.Why this role is important to usYou will be joining the Institutional Services function that allows us to deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to each client relationship — for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. Monitor Cash flows
Look after Safekeeping of financial instruments
Look after ownership verification and record keeping & reconciliation of other assets
Oversight subscriptions and redemptions
Review asset valuation and calculation of NAV
Monitor settlement of asset transactions
Control of income distributions
Ensure effectiveness of operational procedures and controls
Identify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary corrective action
Initiate process improvement, coordinate end-to-end process changes
Take part as a technical expert when developing, testing, and implementing new tools and/or products that support ongoing business changes
Provide technical support to Depositary team members
Act as central point of contact for technical issues encountered in the daily business

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Overall knowledge of and minimum 4+ years of experience in investment funds operations, financial instruments and fund valuation processes
Knowledge of UCITS & AIFM directive and its delegated measures
Proved record of process improvements / simplifications
Fluency in English, Polish, numeracy skills
Experience with VBA/Power Query/Xceptor/SQL/Python would be an advantage
Accountancy or Business related degree (preferred)
Comprehensive knowledge of systems, including Microsoft Office applications is require
